Month in review.

So I realized I never really commented on the 24 hr session. I played more or less for the whole day ranging between 4 tables and 8 tables. Ended up about 430$ (+490$ from 25NL and -60$ for 20k BI). Also got about 25k comp points or something. I havent really played much this last week as I've been busy with holiday stuff and work. Didnt make a run for 100k cps and a wii like I had hoped, but I did hit the 50k mark for an ipod.

I cashed out the 450$ I had in wpex... cause wpex was sucking more than ever! So im gonna use that for rent next month I 'spose. Ummmm... fell a little shy of my goal of 2000$ on poker.com at the month, unless you count coupons. I should have about 1800$ on there after bonuses and just over 600$ in coupons. BTW 275$ coupons are useless so I dont know why I keep winning them! LAWL. I played a bit less than I wanted to, so im happy with that result. Im up somewhere between 1000 and 1250$ in 25NL this month, so the BR is looking sort of healthy again. In january I plan to play a fair bit before school starts. Not sure if it'll be on poker.com or if I'll be jumping over to prima. Im basically waiting to see if poker.com has any good january promos that can compete with 60% RB. I'm also sort of tempted to go blow some money on mansion poker's tournaments. Maybe i'll just put a few hundred in there and see how it pans out.

Aside from poker I had a good christmas with the fam. Been working FT through the holiday. I have yet to receive my marks from school, so hopefully I didn't flunk out. Gotta work tommorow (new year's eve) but am snowboarding on new years day and possibly throwing an after party that day.

Also Gill tells me that he wants to play live poker in canada now. I mean it doesn't really make sense to me for him to spend money on a flight out just because the rake in these casinos are better than his.... but w/e. :P But in all seriousness Im sort of eyeing a canadian poker tour event with a 200+25$ buy-in coming up...let you know if I plan to work that in somewhere.

Time For A Change IMO.

Well, It's finally happened- im actaully sick of playing cash games. Iv'e been playing 50NL for a short while since my bankroll took a hit but the game is just too small now, it's like i don't even care if i win or not, so i'm using these 2 weeks left of the holiday to play donkaments on stars and Ipoker. My target is to get my roll from $2300 or w/e its at right now to $3K+, which i think is easily achieveable as ill be playing a LOT of tournaments (you know me, if i can't 12 table it.. i'm not interested)

Also, some guy is coming to fix the internet tomorrow- FINALLY!!one11!.

Oh, and its new years eve tomorrow so naturally i'm heading to a mates till midnight then going out into town to get really drunk even tho i'm sill recovering from being really ill the past 5 days or so.

Hungover ldo

So the 24 hour session didn't quite work out the way it was planned, seeing as I was really hungover that day and was nowhere near able to play poker during the first half of the 24 hours. When I finally managed to get some hands in, I deffo had a +ev session. Played 2,500 hands of 200NL at full tilt and ended up 1100$. Many of the hands were complete lollerskates, like when I stacked a guy who had 33 unimproved when I held top two and the level of play was really awful from a lot of the opponents. Maybe I should start playing more cash games?

Neways, celebrating Christmas with friends and relatives has taken up a lot of my time these last few days so I haven't played much. I'm still hungover from yesterday, so unlikely i'll play much today.

My little brother got 3 seasons of The Wire for xmas, and we've already watched season 1. Awesome show imo, so prolly gonna go watch the other two seasons now after I take a massive dump.

Weeeeee 24 hours

Well, after 24 hours i finished +$200, but i made $300 in RB which i means i actually made a loss of $100 from actual grinding :|

I looked @ my PT graph and it made me sick so i deleted it, and then deleted poker tracker :P

Roll is $2400 or something stupid so im playing 50NL till i hit 4k then going straight to 1-2, 100NL is teh suck. I actually thought about playing donkaments for a short while.. but i came to my senses pretty quickly.

Iv'e been thinking a lot recently about money and poker, and i'm turning over around $30+ an hour playing 6 tables of 50NL so why should i be so worried about moving up and playing 1-2 or w/e.. if i got a job i'd only be making like $10-12, so meh grinding 50NL aint that bad..

Gonna start grinding again tomorrow no doubt, if i get bored of call of duty 4 and my new double bass pedal that is :D

Burning out.

Play badly today... and I do mean badly. Mostly due to burnout and not being able to pay attention. Also I didn't run great as I had quite a few big hands cracked. Also ran KK into 88 on a K88xx board, that was fun...oh wait no it wasn't.

Anyways guess it was bound to happen, had my first losing session at these tables... roll is now 1130$. Comp points at 33.5k.

Tommorow is our 24 hour session, I appoligize to chris and blue if I dont log on by 6 o'clock. I gotta close at work tonight. But I will definately do my best to be on the computer by 6 am. I'll definately be playing for 24 hours straight even if I miss the start by an hour or 2 tho.

Also I plan to play the 20k and the 10k tommorow. I think if I can get over 55k cps tommorow i'll have a realistic shot at 100k.

Quick update.

p.com balance is 1180$, cps in december are at 27,000. Haven't been running as good as I was.
I still think 2000$ and 100,000 comp points are both attainable by the end of the month.

Finally iv'e started running good after losing all those buyins and taking all that abuse..

Roll= $2520, im running worse than ever and making mistakes now so im moving back down to 50NL, and i think ill just make 30 buyins there and go straight to 1-2. I have nightmares about 100NL now.

On another note, its 7am and i havn't been to sleep yet and i have a 3 hour exam in 2 hours, and im down 10 buyins overnight! so yeah, naturally i feel erm.. "absolutley fucking awful"

But at least its xmas soon? :|

Wee finally finished my exams today. Fink they all went alreet, the last one maybe not so good, but prolly gonna pass. Obv I'm jinxing myself by saying this =/

Prolly didn't sleep more than 1 1/2 hour last nite, but that's ok cause I had some catching up to do and I don't sleep much anyways. Played 4 sngs (lol) too, winnar in two and one 2nd so a goot minisession at stars for once.

Tonite i'm oot celebrating, going to the dodgiest boozer in town ftw. Travelling back to my parents gaff for Christmas on Thursday, so this is prolly my last blog entry before I get home to good ole Haugesund.

I is behind on my playing

Finals are done, but I went out partying a bunch of nights after that so I havent played a lot. I did get in 1500 or so hands tonight though, just some 25NL, ended up 4 BIs or something. So my roll is at about 1500$ now and 1050ish on poker.com. I still think getting to 2000 on PDC by end of december is a very realistic goal, will have to play a bunch tho, which may be hard as im working fulltime now...meh i'll get 'er done. Only at 12k cps this month.... I probs missed out on all the prizes in the scavenger hunt, but i dunno maybe theres still some nanos out there.

Played pretty well tonight. Think I ran alright as well, I dunno... I had a couple of coolers and I missed a lot of draws, but I did win a bunch of 2:1 situations in big pots so Im not really sure if I was running good or not. This seems about average for me at 25NL on PDC, but my sample size is small. Ive been avg about 3-4 buyins per 1000 hands. Which I believe works out to +15-20 BB/100, which is good. Not pepeman running good obv, but still good :P.

Key hand of the night was when I had 66. Flop came Qh6x4h. I checked, there was a big bet and a call. Pretty much knew what they had at that moment so I raised and I raised pretty large, cause they werent going anywhere. Original better flat called, which I liked cause that meant he probably didnt have QQ and he did have AA or KK, other guy called as well of course cause he had a very obvious flush draw and was short. 4 On the turn and I knew I was winning a big one, got the other guy in on the turn (KK) and dodged the 2 outter for an 100$ pot or so. KK guy telegraphed that he had a premium hand and thats not a good thing when ur deep (he had nearly 2 BIs).

Also won a big one with quack quack quack quackers (quad 2s). Lost a big one with 3 purr vs 4444, and with AK vs QQ on AQx.

Biggest mistake of the night was donating a whole bunch with 2 purr (aces and fours) to a set of fours. Felt compelled to pay him off there cause I thought he might be one of the really donkish 25NL players that plays AQ/AK really passively and floats a missed flop with it only to go huge on the turn when they hit their ace. I definately knew he wasnt bluffing or anything, but thought he may play AK/AQ like that, since limp-calling preflop and floating missed flops isn't that uncommon for the tables I was playing. Anyways risk prolly wasnt worth the reward there, and I probably shouldve tossed it. I also missed some value with TTT88 > 888TT...he would've called the AI and I only bet 1/3 his stack, oh well.

There was one really strange hand where I paid off a 2nd pair quite huge on the river. The hand was really strange and I think he may have actually been trying to bluff me on the river, but he had the best hand..... so I guess it turned into a really good value bet :p TBH I don't know wth went on in that hand. I really thought he was spewing with king high lol.

Ran my roll upto 4500 and got excited about hitting 5k so i could play 200NL.

Needless to say, variance slapped me round the face and i lost 14 buyins to a sexy string of bad beats, coolers, cold cards etc etc etc, as per usual for me every 10 days or so. So now i have to play solid for 2 weeks just to play enough hands before i realise i suck and can't beat 100NL.

Running like crap on Stars, goot on Full Tilt

For whatever reason, i seem to just lose lately on stars. 8 tabled 100PLO, and ended down 2 buyins obv. And it's been like that lately. Got AAJxss in preflop vs KQT9os and some other stupid stuff. Was deffo outplayed in many of my allins :P Atleast this session, I didn't play that bad, but stupid beats by some ridiculous hands put me down for the day.

Obv play some turbos on FTP and make it all back and then some, so I guess I should just focus on playing turbos there 'till we play the 24 hr session?

Other notes:

Finished 2 outta 3 exams. Did alreet, fink im passing both. However the last one is horrible, and I gotta focus on it till the 18th, so I pass this one too.

Went to a Christmas dinner with my classmates, got ridulously drunk and tried some bold, aggressive moves to get to bed with the hottest chick from my class, but they weren't rewarded. The sausage stand was closed.

Grindddd

Just wound down from a 14 hour session chasing the weeks 10 buyin downswing. Finished +1100, bringing my roll to around 4100 or so which im pretty happy with, i just wish i could consistantly win instead of losing or making crazy amounts of buyins in such short periods of time..

My internet is still running good.. which is good timing because i applied for lots of jobs which are taking people on but no1 wants to hire a lazy, inexperienced, poker degenerate so i guess while im at uni ill just have to stick to what i do best...losing or making crazy amounts of buyins in such short periods of time :)

Also, the 24 hour session should hopefully take place 1pm uk time 23rd december- 1pm 24th december. After today's 14 hour session, i'm looking forward to it :)

So yeah, i'm back and i played some hands and you can tell from looking at my profit graph, i'm down 6 buyins in like, 2k hands? :)

Decided im gonna do the 24 hour session @50NL because its gonna be -EV playing so many hands without sleep, so i may aswell do it @ a level where i don't need to think too much so i can go into bot mode and play while i sleep.

Date+time still not confirmed, but nevertheless, i'm looking forward to it...20 buyins @50NL would be a nice xmas present, kthx

Alright just a quick post here...sorry no poker content really.

I have 5 finals from monday through tuesday and I am super stressed out. Also its not helping htat I had to pull 2 all nighters the past week to finish my term project. Im pretty sure if anyone actually tried to build the plant I designed for this that it would probably explode....meh whatever I wont fail that class, so i dont really care. Group member- "wait a second you're using a direct fire heater to heat the methanol...isn't methanol like highly flammable or something?" me- "Too late now! weeeeeeeeeee!" Probably get a C or something and be happy with it.

Looks like i'll be working overtime over christmas, as like all but 3 of us at work have gone home for the holidays.

With that being said I have set a goal to bring my PDC account to 2000$ through dec. 13 to the new year. It currently sits at 850$ or so. I plan on doing this by exclusively playing 25NL to 100NL. Seems like a realistic goal since I will be working a bunch on top of that and it will be difficult to log hours upon hours at poker. Dont think i'll play wpex much, they really dont have many tables running now a days.

Also I find it amusing how a couple of my posts just disappeared in the forum after pointing out some flaws/exploitation possibilities with the current promotion :P. Sucks that they are changing terms mid-promotion, but I will likely stay at pdc for this month at least. I dunno might goto prima still... depends on where I think I can make the most profit without risking much.

LOL omaha donkaments

Played a 10$ rebuy omaha tournament today on FTP. 90 players entered and the rebuy hour was even crazier than the usual hold em rebuy tourneys. Got a decent stack and think I was about 3rd after the first break. Don't think I played optimally, but made it to the final table obv.

Came in 5/9 or summat and played fairly patient until we got to 4 handed. Started playing aggromonkey, laid out some bad beats, got berated in the chat and won obv.

Alright... so I have a new routine where I spend about 14 hours straight at school and come home and play about an hour of poker :). I've played a total of 3.5 hours in the last 3 days (not including the 20k - where I was multi tasking that with group work at school) but I'm up about 8 buy ins. It is only 25NL, but I am obv running goot. I'm pretty sure that 50$/hr at 25NL is unsustainable.

Tonight me and 'froliche' (sp?) took turns dealing each other coolers, AA vs KK, AA vs QQ, KK vs QQ, obv all in blind battles :P. I think I probably got the better of it, cause he didnt have a full buyin on the 2 that he won.

I dont really have much to comment on other than post flop play has been pretty hideous at the tables ive been at. Like I dont think it matters what I bet, a min bet is treated the same as a 2x pot bet a lot of the time. So ive reduced my playing style to a "over betting, telegraphing all my hands, nitty fish" and that seems to be working out. I counter becoming bored by playing as many tables as I can!

But as I said I have been running well, and I did suck out and won a 2 buy in pot tonight with 5c6c, flop was 248 with 2 clubs. I had raised preflop after a couple of limpers and on the flop I was facing a very small bet and a call, so of course I had to raise. Initial better made a large 3bet (guess he got his set - I was like 95% sure). Anyways I'm almost positive I had the pot odds to call it as I was almost getting 2:1 and I think I am better than that here, although I didnt work it out completely, cause I was 8 tabling. Anyways he flipped over 22, I didn't watch the hand out but when I looked back I saw I had a big stack, so I guess I won it. Ship it.

Played a short session tonight.

Probably the first time ive played in weeks that is worthy of the term 'session', as i probably logged about 1000 hands or so....which is still a small session. Anyways as ive posted earlier I really havent been logging much time at all in poker, due to finals and term projects being due. I plan on concentrating on poker after the 13th. I cashed a bunch of money out, so i'll probably be rebuilding for a bit, might take some shots in some larger buy in tourneys, but for cash tables probably just grinding 25 or 50NL for awhile. The roll sits at about 1200$ I think.

Anyways I 8 tabled 25NL for probably 90-120 min tonight. Got off to a bad start dropping 3 buy ins or so, had about 8 really good drawing hands in that time... none of which hit. Also had a couple of mini coolers like AQ vs AK on Axx flop and lost a couple of flips against medium stacks (AK vs TT ect). Got stacked on one table when I raised preflop with 7s8s and the flop was 3sTsJc, when he raised me he didnt seem plus i figured he'd probably put me on a hand since I had shown a lot of strength so I pushed, he obv called with QJ (no spade) without much thought and I lost that flip. Anyways I was probably tilting a tad at this point and making a couple of marginal (at best) plays. This is when Gill started talking to me on msn and told me to quit playing, I told him that I dont log losing sessions and he was like standard, or whatever he usually says... I wasnt paying too much attention cause I had 8 tables to tilt at! ;)

Anyways I calmed down a bit and readjusted my strategy for these 25NL tables. Which basically meant less value calls, exploiting limpers more and tightening up my cbets. Anyways I started to run good at this point. I had 77 vs AK on a 7AK flop and I had 94 on a 94TA4 board where the river made my opponents flush. Also won a couple of 2:1 situations against medium stacks when I raised and they went over the top. (ie: KK vs AJ ect). Ended the session +2buyins ($50), felt good about my game on the whole, did make a couple of mistakes and a few of them were from 8 tabling and msning at the same time.

So again I wont be playing much until the 13th, at which point i'll be rebuilding mostly...nothing too exciting, might play a grand final here or a 20k there. Me, Blue and Gill will almost certainly be playing a 24 hr session at some point in december...more details to come later, Im undecided if I want to do that at prima or at poker.com. I would get 60% rakeback on prima, but poker.com's current promo (scavenger hunt) plus the reload bonus is probably about par with that. Prima offers poker office support though, so im not really sure. I would play it at wpex but theres only ever like 2 tables going at wpex :P. Gill is probably a shoe in for most hands played, as he can like 12 table for long lengths of time. I tend to get burnt out 8 tabling after a few hours. I dont think blue is as big a multi-tabler as gill is either, but I could be wrong with that. Blue is more into tournaments anyways.

Oh almost forgot, I didnt bother with the turkey day sng thing...I see it was a nice jackpot and wouldve been defn +eV to qualify, but I had more important things (school) to do this week so I didnt bother qualifying for it. Also I was supposed to work today so I thought I had a time conflict anyways. Luckily I got it off and was able to get a bunch of my term project done.
